The Case and The Contest:

"The Smart Insight Case Contest is unique because it provides a platform for students to distinguish themselves in a very special way. The winner, i.e The Smart Champion, will be featured in The Smart Manager alongside industry experts. It is an opportunity to showcase your talent and stand out from the crowd, to have your ability acknowledged by a panel of judges consisting of Professor Nitin Nohria (Harvard Business School), Professor Sumantra Ghoshal (London Business School and Indian School of Business), Dr Omkar Goswami (Chief Economist, CII), Kamini Banga (Brand Consultant), Rajesh Jain (Managing Director, Netcore Solutions who was earlier with IndiaWorld) and Dr Gita Piramal (author of Business Maharajas and managing editor of The Smart Manager).

The Smart Insight Case Contest is geared specifically for management students to hone their analytical skills given a real life situation. Submitting an entry is a simple process. All one has to do is log on to the website www.thesmartmanager.com, read the case carefully, register free online and submit the solution in 500 words before 10 April 2002. The panel of judges will sift through the entries and select a winner - The Smart Champion - based on the analysis, clarity of thought, style of presentation and viability of the insight. The Smart Champion will be personally informed and his/her insight along with a photograph and the name of the institution will be published prominently in the forthcoming issue of The Smart Manager along with the opinions of industry experts, naturally placing the Smart Champion above peer competition."
